At REALMS, service is integrated into the learning expeditions that our students pursue in and out of the classroom. Often, the culminating projects that students create at the end of an expedition are themselves, acts of service. For example, our students culminated their study of plant and animal physiology with the creation a field guide to the plants and animals of a local watershed. Fifty copies of this field guide were then published, reproduced, and donated to the local environmental education center for their use with visiting students.
